You can ride from out from Grenoble no problem - cruise out along the N91 and take a left when you see the sign. Nice bike shop in Bourg d’Oisans.
Grenoble (city) - Vizille - Bourg d’Oisans - l’Alpe d’Huez
A monument of cycling. Don’t fit granny rings or 27 tooth rear sprockets, just put your head down and feel the pain. It’s supposed to hurt, it’s Alpe d’Huez.
